Struggling to find your “true” passion?
Like to write?
Blogging has really taken off as a way to make money and as a hobby, so if you are in need and can answer the previous questions you might want to think about starting your own blog.
Keep in mind this blog does not have to be out there to make money (unless of course you want it to), but if you just want to find your passion a personal blog is the way to go. Personal blogs, I would say are the what blogs truly were in the beginning. When you went to a blog you would either learn from the stories they told or just find some insight in whatever they published.
A blog, when used properly, can allow you to figure yourself out better and this is the “true” passion or interest I have been talking about.
Disclaimer: This article will offer brief tips to start a blog by supplying you links, but it will not run through a step-by-step process.
I am only trying to make the point that starting a blog will help you find your true passion if you are clueless now.
Here are three ways that starting a blog will help you find your true passion:
1. Finding out what to blog about
Finding out what to blog about is the brainstorming and analyzing your inner self process. When you try to complete this step you are analyzing what your interests are and what you would be willing to learn more about. This is the hardest part when starting a blog, in general, but it will be very helpful to make a crack in the shell of finding your true passion.

2. Writing posts on your blog
Writing posts on your blog will help determine if the blog topic you picked or in general if blogging is right for you in finding your passion. Obviously if you do not like to write you will not like blogging write? Well when I started blogging in 2008 I really did not care for writing. But since then, while trying to find my passion, my writing skills have improved along with my mind thinking skills.
Another thing for me that I wished I have done is start a blog especially before going to college and starting my higher level of education. Writing posts on your blog is the key make or break part of finding your passion with blogging.
3. Reading your comments and seeing if you can write more
Once you have written at least 10 posts (this link talks about your blog niche, which in this case would be your “passion”) and have people commenting on them you can see whether their feedback is of interest to you.
Do you enjoy having a conversation with your posts? If so, then it might be your “true” passion, but if not you need to think what else you might find passion in and seeing if you can write more posts that are of relation.
From all of this you might find that writing those 10 posts, as mentioned above, will help you decide whether you want to go ahead with starting a blog to get other people’s, sharing that interest, feedback.
The LifeNotion: Blogs, whether you are writing one or reading one, can help determine if the passion you have is your “true” passion.

If you currently do blog, has it made it easier to find your true passion? Additionally, if you are a blogger what would be your one bit of advice for anyone thinking about starting a blog?
Since I started blogging, I will be changing my major because my interests and passion changed for the better. Will blogging do the same for you?

great article, my tip to the new bloggers would be to have lots of patience, it takes time and work to get popular and many bloggers get discouraged and quit before they had a chance to get there.
Eve,
Thanks for the comment and I would agree with you that having patience is key to starting a blog.
Best Regards,
Derek
Hey Derek,
I really like your little icons next to all the links you have in your blog posts – I think this is very helpful! How did you implement this? Would be great to share with your readers
I really like how you set out your blog posts. Only thing missing is being able to get email updates when people reply to your blog posts!
I really like your first point. I think blogging in the beginning is an evolution. You’ve jumped in but you’re not sure exactly where you’re going to end up, over time through your writing, your interests, your readers engagement and what they want will mold your blog into how it will end up.
Even then blogging is still an evolution – just look at Darren’s blog – he just launched his problogger.com forum!

Hey Sarge,
Thanks for the comment!
In regards to the icons by each link I installed the plugin called Apture. You will need to sign up for an account to use it which is free. I do love all the features you can use with it and if you are an Amazon affiliate it will incorporate your account into Apture.
Like I said thanks for the feedback regarding my blog in general and this specific post.
Best Regards,
Derek
gr8 point about blogging.for me i enjoy blogging but the most difficult part is to write long post.
what do you think?
is it imp to write long post in order to be successful blogger?
Zeesu,
Thanks for the comment. And to answer to your question I think that in order to be a successful blogger you need lots and lots of good posts. If your short posts are all very helpful and provide great content then I would continue with those posts.
The long posts will (hopefully) develop through time. How long have you been blogging?
Derek,
You always seem to have just the right picture for your posts – where do you get them?
Dave,
I must just do a good job searching with Google Images.
I made the mistake of creating my blog site before figuring out the passionate direction I want to take. But now its a journey I intend to see through
It is true that sometimes you just adapt to the “passion” that you really feel you do not have passion for. And through that adaptation and journey you are talking about you will create passion through determination.
Thanks for the comment.
Never thought about it like this, but you’re right. Coming up with new content all the time is tough, especially after you’ve been doing it a while.
The process of finding something that motivates you every day on your blog is a reflection of finding what motivates you in life. Through blogging, I found my passion was building businesses and creating.
Blogging has done wonders for me. Now that I am a Junior in college I really am starting to question my current major, but I am just going to finish it up and see what I will do in graduate school.
You always have to reflect on what you are doing and see if your passion has shifted or made a complete change.
